Staying True to Yourself

Never be tempted to be something or someone you are not. Staying
true to yourself is one of the most fundamental tools in achieving a
lasting, loving relationship. Being loved for who we are is much
more satisfying than molding ourselves to what someone else wants us
to be. Try to resist this type of manipulation by casting the
following spell. It will help you to gain a true sense of who you
are and to keep that knowledge during your date.

What Do I Need?

A lock of your hair
Some of your nail clippings
A passport-size picture of yourself smiling
A favorite pen
A small piece of paper
Eight sunflower seeds still in their shells
A length of black cord or ribbon
A royal blue colored cloth bag, big enough to contain all of the
other spell components

When Should I Do This Spell?

Any time before a date

What Should I Do?

Put the lock of your hair, your nail clippings and your photograph
into the royal blue cloth bag. Sit comfortably in your favorite
room, chair or space. Have the little bag sitting in your lap.

With your pen, write down on the sheet of paper the positive
qualities that define who you are, such as good humor, optimism,
liveliness, or thoughtfulness. Also write down what you like and
dislike in a relationship.

Take time to put a really good list together. Fold the paper and
place it into the blue bag. Pour in the sunflower seeds, and then tie
the bag shut with the black cord.

Carry the bag with you on the date to remind you of your worth and
of who you really are.
