xXx, pronounced "Triple X", is a 2002 action film starring Vin Diesel in the lead role as Xander Cage, is your standard thrill seeking extreme sports enthusiast rebellious anarchist adrenaline junkie with no fear and a lousy attitude. When the US Government "recruits" him to go on a mission, he's not exactly thrilled. His mission: to gather information on an organization that may just be planning the destruction of the world, led by the nihilistic Yorgi.

What I liked the Most? Vin Diesel - excellent choice for new breed action hero - he's a big, muscular, macho guy that men can look at with envy and the ladies can fall for.

What I liked the Least? Like any other number of these testosterone-filled action films - it was somewhat moronic in nature, BUT undeniably entertaining.

Review: From the 50s biker movies on, it seems the hero must be a rebel against authority and in this movie (and others like it) Uncle Sam is forced employ the rebel to get the job done because their men (tux wearing James Bondish types) are getting killed!

This film is not a serious flick, and shouldn't be treated like one. Does it provide deep intellectual probing, soul-searching, gritty realism? A resounding NO, but really WHO CARES? This movie is all about fun - crazy mind-blowing extreme stunting, sexy charismatic charming hero, sexy engaging damsel in distress and of course complete crazily bad tweedle. The plot moves right along - elaborate stunts, government test, bad guy haven, meet damsel, blow up stuff. And it's got LOTS of decent one-liners.

The major selling point for me was the straight edge feel to this movie - it was full of basic shoot em up action stuff. No extreme violence. No gore. No extreme profanity. No extreme sexual content. And it even threw out smoking (I told him that cigarette would kill him one day) & drinking (cranberry juice and club soda). In other words, nothing to detract from the great fun of a fast-paced, amazing stunt-fest that is light, refreshing, and visually awesome. For pure action, the movie succeeds BECAUSE, it does entertain which is of course the name of the game.

Recommended to: Anyone who wants an entertaining movie with lots of Diesel drool time
