Zombie Walk Madness

Ok, so Fayetteville has these fourth friday events
and in the month of October that means

ZOMBIE WALK!!!

So freaking exciting, right?
Well every year we are home for this event I kill my Bunny and bring him back as a zombie!
And this year was abso no different.

So I have to give myself a few props & snaps this year
I was able to create my very own prosthetic for the scars on the Bunny's face.

But this year I got to dead out a few other people too!

The Bunny & I ended up downtown ahead of the rest of the gang cause we be impatient like that.
aka we didn't want to wait any more!

So on our way from the parking deck to the main street we got waylaid at a tattoo joint
because the proprietor's nephew wanted a pic of him in all his glory.

Then we finally made it around to my favorite place to take pictures of him.
Every year - I kill him, bring him back as a zombie, and then throw him in jail - lol.
It's like tradition with us.

Doesn't he just look abso demonically dead?

I adore the fact that our little town has these amazingly freakish festivals.
And I love it even more that my Bunny is all down to go play downtown!

This is just a small sample of the turn out!

Some people go all out on their costumes (evi Bunny wants to be one of those next year)

So my masterpiece (the Bunny) was selected for the first round of the costume contest
the judge that picked him said it was uber creative!
I mean come on, I'm not a make up artist by no means, but evidently I did a good job.
Unfortunately, he didn't make it into the next round
but hey, 1st round is pretty dang good.

I thought it would be pretty funny to get a shot of him under the big tires of a jeep,
so I had him go ask the guys hanging about if they minded
and since they didn't I got him in the position I wanted.
Before I could even snap off a pic - there were about 20 people taking his picture.

After Guy saw the response, he decided to get in on the action!
Grabbed an ax and proceed to ham for the camera!

Loads more pictures were taken.

I'm pretty sure that Bunny's picture was taken more last night than ever before,
but he seemed to be enjoying himself.

My phone died so I don't really have any more pictures.

International Folk Festival aka International Food Festival

So our charming little city hosts a parade and festival
to celebrate all the different cultures residing here every year.
And this year was the 38th annual event.

We were not about to miss it.
So we gots up super early on Saturday morning
to get all ready for the big event!

The streets were looking abandoned when we got there, but that will soon change.
I'm pretty sure that almost everyone comes to the this event!

Goofing off while waiting for things to start!

See the crowds are rolling in now

And the bandstand fills up!

The parade starts!
If you wanna see pics of almost all of the groups you can go check out my
2016 album on Facebook.

So after the parade, we made our way to festival park so we could
sample some of the goodies from all the vendors.
Sorry no pictures, but I had my hands full of all kinds of yummy food.
At the Vietnamese booth we tried Beef Seven Ways and had pineapple on a stick.
At the German booth - Black Forest Cake.
From Jamaica it was Sorrell.
A Peruvian empanada.
Native American Fry Bread.
A lamb gyro from the Greek booth.
And lots of other little samples of cultural delicacies.
So much fun was had by the both of us and so much food was consumed.
It was a truly magical day (even if I did get sunburnt).

Pagan Pride Raleigh

So I totally missed taking pictures today!
But it's just a thing that happens occasionally.
I was a little bit busy trying to make sure that I didn't run into someone I didn't want to.

Me after my new application of FAIRY HAIR!!!!!

Hehe - Bunny got glittered and bubbled today!

International Folk Festival

We woke up this morning and since I am feeling better we decided to
brave the weather (cool & drizzly)
to go to IFF!

Ok, so my town is abso amazing!

I love the fact that we (as a town) celebrate all kinds of things,
but my favorite is the Folk of the Town.

We have a parade and then you can eat your way around the world.

Loving the start of the parade

Gotta get this type of outfit for the Bunny

This man makes me smile so very very big each and every year.
This year that smile was marred by tears, because it breaks my heart that he marches alone.

End of the parade - the Motorcycles!

And after the fact we walked around downtown.

Bunny got lamb from the Greek booth, I scored a crab cake and then
we tried perogies from the Ukraine & FryBread from the Native American booth.
