A 14th century Crusader returns to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest, a grieving knight, a disgraced itinerant and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardises the knight's pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.
I picked this movie because Bunny's pick
What I liked the Most? Felson - I just adored his character
What I liked the Least? Blaming a witch - really?!?!?
Review: Season of the witch was a far better movie than everyone led me to believe. I was expecting a complete & total demoralizing story and I got a rather interesting DnD tale.
The basis of the story is that AWOL soliders Cage and Pearlman show up in town just in time to take a witch to the monastery where she will be put on trial. Chaos and terror ensue as they treck the mountainside and forest.
It's not Cage's best acting but it's an improvement over the last couple of movies. And Pearlman makes a truly spectacular sidekick/friend and gets most of the good lines. The special effects are lame and can pull you out of the movie, but overall "Season of the witch" is a decent thriller.
This movie isn't bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Best Quote: Felson: "'I serve the Church no more.'" laugh "Did you see the priest's face? Looked like someone pissed in his holy water."
