I've been slowing incorporating "other" types of books into my reading list, but I needed a kick to the butt to get moving into other areas, so I'm adding her suggested list here and we will see what happens. LOL.

Adventure – Treasure Island, Jamrach’s Menagerie.
Classic – As it says on the tin, pick a classic book from Dickens to Haddon.
Comedy/Black Comedy – Michael Chabon, Nick Hornby.
A Confederacy of Dunces ~ John Kennedy Toole
Crime/Mystery – Sherlock Holmes, Rebus, Lincoln Rhyme.
Drama – Graham Swift, Ishiguro, The Help.
Dystopian – Never Let Me Go, Margaret Atwood.
The Hunger Games ~ Suzanne Collins
Fantasy – Can be anything from Lord Of The Rings to The Dark Tower.
That Voodoo You Do ~ Jodi Redford
Gothic – Poe is a perfect example.
Graphic Novel – Anything from Marvel and DC to Jonathan Cape stuff.
Historical Fiction – Wolf Hall, Conn Iggulden.
Horror/Ghost Story – Stephen King, Clive Barker, Susan Hill.
Kids – Harry Potter, Narnia.
ABC ~ Dr Seuss
Literary – Just look at the past Booker lists. Read a winner for bonus points.
Poetry – Research something that grabs you.
Romance – Anything that has a love story at its centre.
Siren Call ~ Kimberly Llewellyn
Sci-Fi – Space Opera, China Mieville, Gollancz Classics.
Steampunk – Boneshaker, Affinity Bridge.
Thriller – Lee Child, Dan Brown.
War – Birdsong, My Dear I Wanted To Tell You.
Young Adult – There’s plenty out there, scour your local bookstore.
