Sea Witch Bath Salt

Maybe you’re a landlocked sea witch, maybe you’re looking for a setting to commune with your ocean deity, maybe you just feel like pampering yourself like a mermaid. We’ve got the bath salt for you.
  • 1C sea salt
  • 1C epsom salt
  • 1C kelp powder
  • ½C baking soda
Combine all the ingredients in a jar, then charge the mixture under the full moon. Store with a piece of moonstone when not in use. When you use this bath salt, please add about a cup to a reusable bath tea bag or other similar item to make clean up easier, after all kelp swells (A LOT) when it gets wet and you don't want that going down the drain.

For added UMPH! instead of just taking a bath in this heavenly mixture you can totally upgrade your bath by adding:
  • Optional Items would include:
  • Candles
  • Anything that reminds you of the sea (deco wise of course)
  • Jasmine or eucalyptus incense
  • Sea sounds playlist/CD/DVD
All of the added items can help create a more relaxing and tranquil setting.

The Wake Up Scrub

Nothing rouses you in the morning quite like the smell of coffee, so go ahead -- slather some on. A skin-softening body scrub made from coffee grounds and aromatic plant essences is a traditional treatment that's used in Thai and Balinese spas, and it's a luxurious way to start the day.

This recipe couples a rich, smoky coffee aroma with the sweet scent of peppermint -- known in aromatherapy for its mentally stimulating, energizing properties. Thanks to raw sugar crystals and olive oil, which exfoliate and moisturize, your body gets a pick-me-up, too. It makes enough for two to three applications.

Tools and Materials
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup pure turbinado sugar
15 drops peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita)
1/2 cup used coffee grounds from a freshly brewed pot

Wake-Up Scrub How-To
1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl; using a fork, thoroughly blend. Transfer the scrub to a wide mouthed jar, and store in a cool place until ready to use. The scrub will keep for one to two weeks, longer if refrigerated.

2. While showering, apply handfuls of the coffee scrub to wet skin in circular motions, starting at the feet and working up. The scrub contains oil, so it's best to do this over a rubber mat to avoid slipping. Pay particular attention to rough spots such as heels, ankles, knees, and elbows.

3. After scrubbing, cleanse skin as usual using a mild natural soap or body wash. Pat skin dry with a fluffy towel, and follow with lotion to seal in the moisture.

Moon Perfume

Priest
1 fl. oz (30cc) lemon verbena or Lime oil
2 fl. oz (60cc) coriander oil
1/2 fl. oz. (15cc) camphor or myrrh oil
1/4 fl. oz. (7cc) white spirit
3 3/4 fl. oz. (105cc) distilled water

Blend the oils in a bottle, add the spirit and water and shake all vigorously.
Increasing the myrrh oils gives a darker perfume; increasing the camphor, a lighter and more spicy one. All perfumes 'behave' differently on different skins, so it is worth experimenting to find your own balance.

Priestess
1 Drop Queen of the Night Oil
3 drops rose oil
1 drop lemon verbena oil
4 fl. oz white spirit

Blend the three oils in a bottle. Add the white spirit, and shake all vigorously. A cologne can be made by adding another 1 FL. oz of white spirit and 3 fl. oz of distilled water.

Refreshing Body Splash

1/2 cup witch hazel
1/2 cup bottled spring water
5-8 drops lemon essential oil
8 oz. glass bottle with a small neck, such as a cruet or oil and vinegar style bottle

Pour the witch hazel and bottled water into the glass bottle. Attach the cap and shake well. Add the lemon essential oil, one drop at a time, until it reaches the desired scent strength. Attach the cap and shake well. Note: Shake well before each use. Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from sunlight when not in use. If you store the product in your bathroom cabinet, use it within one week. It will last for one month if refrigerated.
