Shake up the happiness Wake up the happiness Shake up the happiness It's Christmas time
There was a story that I was told And I want to tell the world before I get too old And don't remember it, so let's December it And reassemble it, oh yeah
Once upon a time in a town like this A little girl made a great big wish To fill the world full of happiness And be on Santa's magic wish

At the same town miles away A little boy made a wish that day That the world would be okay And Santa's pals would hear him say I got dreams and I got love I got my feet on the ground and family above Can you send some happiness with my best To the rest of the east and the west
And maybe every once in a while You give my a grandma a reason to smile 'Tis the season to smile It's cold but we'll be freezing in style
And let me meet a girl one day That wants to spread some love this way We can let our souls run free And she can open some happiness with me
Shake it up, shake up the happiness Wake it up, wake up the happiness Come on all, it's Christmas time Shake it up, shake up the happiness Wake it up, wake up the happiness Come on all, it's Christmas time
I know you're out there I hear your reindeer I see the snow wear Your boots have been
I'm gonna show them So they will know then Then love will grow in They believe again

When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly, is the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General.
I picked this movie because It was my mother’s favorite Christmas movie & now it is mine
What I liked the Most? EVERYTHING!!!
What I liked the Least? Nothing
Review: First off – a note to all the haters out there – yes this movie is fluff, but that’s what it is supposed to be. Entertaining fluff. It makes me laugh, cry and cheer. That is what it was designed to do. Danny Kaye gave suck life to Phil Davis, bringing him full range from a loveable goof ball to perfect leading man. And Vera-Ellen dancing is sooo perfectly wonderful & those legs!! When she dances you can see why men would fall over her.
A GREAT MOVIE!!!! GREAT CAST CHEMISTRY!!!! GREAT MUSIC!!!! GREAT DANCING!!!! WATCH IT AND YOU WILL SOON BE DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!!

Best Quote: Well how do you like that? Not so much as a "kiss my foot" or "have an apple".

I want you to get married. I want you to have nine children. And if you only spend five minutes a day with each kid, that's forty-five minutes, and I'd at least have time to go out and get a massage or something.

Bob: Oh, Phil, when are you going to learn that girls like that are a dime a dozen? Phil: Please, don't quote me the price when I haven't got the time.

Tame the chaos of the holiday season and relax into December with this easy-to-follow holiday countdown. If you follow this plan, the packages will be wrapped and cards will be sent by the first week of December, leaving tons of time for winter fun.
Everything in Perspective
This holiday season, keep the focus where it should be: spending time with family and friends. Organization and sticking to the time line is the key, but remember this is a tool to decrease stress not increase anxiety. So assess its priorities against your own and make adjustments according to your family's favorite traditions, your time availability, travel plans, and budget. Week 1: Halloween Week is for Laying the Foundation
Clean and inventory your holiday work spaces; make a place for gift wrapping, holiday card writing, food storage and preparation. Making space for these tasks will help you stay in control of the projects.
Create a holiday planner using a 3-ring binder, a notebook, or a computer file. Label sections: Calendar, Budget, Holiday Card, Gift List, Recipes/Meal Plans, Decorations, and Notes/Ideas. This will be a great resource to reflect on and modify year to year.
Finalize your budget for the holidays; include holiday cards, gifts, decorating, and entertaining.
As you make meals through the week, make doubles of dinners that will freeze and reheat well for use during busy holiday times.
Order your turkey and other specialty items for Thanksgiving.
Update and finalize your holiday card list.
Week 2: Planning and Organizing
Create a gift list, estimating prices to make sure you stay on budget. (Don’t forget wrapping and shipping add cost to each gift!) Divide the list into four categories:
Gifts to be shipped
Big-ticket or time-consuming giftsGifts to be hand delivered
Easy pick-ups
Talk with your family about your holiday card; choose a picture, theme, or style.
Order or purchase supplies. If sending a letter, write a first draft and send it around the family for editing and revisions.
Take inventory of your holiday decorations. Does anything need to be replaced or updated?
Clean out closets and less used spaces like guest rooms.
Freeze two extra meals and make a few batches of cookie dough for the freezer.
Week 3: General Preparation
Start planning menus for holiday feasts and collect recipes. Make preparation schedules and grocery lists.
Begin working on the first group of gifts and pick up wrapping and packing supplies as needed. Pack gifts that are ready to ship, print labels and postage.
Ship any gifts going internationally.
Deep clean and organize high traffic areas.
Finalize the holiday card list and print labels or address envelopes. Finish and print letter, if using.
Week 4: Focus on Thanksgiving
Focus on preparing for Thanksgiving. Grocery shop early in the week and make as many dishes ahead of time as possible.
Polish silver, clean serving ware and china, if needed. Label each serving piece with its dish and place serving utensil with it. This will help others help you on the big day.
Use frozen meals on Tuesday and Wednesday to save time.
Relax and enjoy time with family and friends!
Complete any online ordering and catalog shopping for holiday gifts.
Make the best of Thanksgiving sales by shopping for big-ticket gifts.
After Thanksgiving, pack away your autumn decorations and bring out the holidays.
Week 5: Ship Shape
Go over gift list and make sure everything but the easy pick-ups has been completed. If you were planning on making any gifts that are not yet done or started, make alternate plans and save that idea for another time.
Prepare and freeze final batches of cookie dough and a few more meals.
Plan a holiday card production party: sign, fold, seal, and stamp. Making it a family project will help it move along faster! Plan a great prize for completing the project.
Finish decorating inside the house, make room for the tree!
Order turkey, goose, ham or other specialty foods.
Drop off holiday outfits to the cleaners; make any clothing purchases necessary to make it through the season.
Stock up on bulk presents, for hostess gifts and just in case you forgot anyone. Wine, candles, serving ware, or fine oils and jams make thoughtful and easy gifts.
Week 6: Finish the Work and Prepare to Celebrate!
Do any deep cleaning or organizing that still needs to be done before the holidays. The rest of the month will just be for light cleaning and finishing touches.
Pack and prepare any gifts for domestic shipping.
Plan a family outing to pick up a tree and bring it home to decorate. You're so organized at this point, you can throw a tree-trimming party!
Begin to prepare any holiday foods that can be made ahead and frozen.
Hand-deliver gifts to teachers, service workers, colleagues, and others to whom you want to show your appreciation.
Finish any remaining shopping and gift wrapping.
Send holiday cards.
Now, enjoy the rest of December! Ski, party, pamper yourself, bake cookies at a leisurely pace, and use frozen meals to take stress off of busy days. Just have fun and give yourself the time and the energy to be filled with the spirit of the season.

Materials: 1-2 Large Bundles Evergreen Boughs, 1 Bundle Holly, 1 Wreath Frame (Wire or Styrofoam), Garden Clippers, Spool of Fine Green Wire, 2 Yards Red Ribbon, Adornments.
Cut boughs into 6" to 8" pieces. Same with Holly. Cut about 20- 15" pieces of the wire. Gather a bundle of boughs together, thicker at the back and fanning out in the front. Wrap wire around the bundle about 2/3 from the top. Hold bundle in place and wrap wire around the bundle and the frame. Repeat this step, only adding a sprig of holly in front. Repeat steps 1 and 2, adding holly to bundle every other time. Make sure that all the bundles face the same direction. Where the last bundle meets the bottom of the first bundle is usually barer than the rest of the wreath, so that is where you can attach a large yellow, orange, red, or gold bow to symbolize the Sun King. Now you are ready to wire on all sorts of adornments, candies, pine cones, rosebuds, seashells, small bells, or anything to make it more personal. (Tell kids about how evergreen boughs and holly were hung both inside and outside of the homes to extend and invitation to the nature sprites to join in the Yule celebration.)

Ingredients 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for the work surface 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions 1.Heat oven to 350° F. 2.Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until smooth. Add the egg and beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the vanilla. Reduce mixer speed to low. 3.Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and add it slowly to the butter mixture, mixing until just incorporated (the dough will be stiff). Shape into a flat 1-inch-thick disk. Refrigerate, wrapped, for 30 minutes. 4.Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Cut into shapes and place on baking sheets. The scraps can be combined and rolled out again. Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are a light golden brown. 5.Transfer to cooling station.
Materials: Ruler or Compass, Scissors, Thin Cardboard, Gold Foil Paper, Glue Stick, Heavy Thread and Needle.
Help child cut out a 4" cardboard circle. With this template, the child can then trace and cut out 14 circles from the foil paper. One by one, fold a circle in half, half, and half again. Unfold the circle and cut along the fold lines, stopping about 1/2 inch from the center. Repeat until all the circles are cut. Form the points of the Sun Burst by wrapping each of the eight segments around the point of a sharpened pencil. Point of pencil should face away from the center of the circle. Secure each point with a dab of glue. Thread a needle with 18" length of thread. Insert the needle through all the centers of the circles from the foil side of the first seven and the plain side of the last seven. Gently pull the circles together, bunching them into a ball. Tie off with a knot, and use the excess thread to form a loop for hanging the ornament. ( Hang up in windows to reflect the sunlight or on tree for decoration, explain to children how the sun gets stronger, climbs higher, and last longer in the sky each day starting at Yule.)
Combine flour, salt, and water in a large bowl. Dough should kneed easily but not be sticky, if so, add more flour. On a flat surface, lay down some waxed paper. Take a handful of the dough and roll out with a rolling pin. Cut dough into shapes with the cookie cutters. Make a hole in top of "cookie" for wire hanger. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and put in oven at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until *slightly* brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool thoroughly. Paint with acrylic paints. Allow to dry, place hanger in hole and adorn tree, packages, or hang in windows. (Allow children to make-up Yule stories to go along with each decoration they are making.)
Pick up roast for French dip and gather all recipe ingredients. Add mini sandwich rolls to the shopping list to replace full size French rolls. Round up supplies for ornaments and garland: popcorn, cranberries, construction paper, glitter, and tape. Cook date appetizers and green beans. Place in serving dishes; cover and refrigerate. Let kids roll mini cheese balls in nuts, chopped parsley, or poppy seeds; refrigerate.
On Party Day The best rule of thumb for a perfect tree: lights, lights, and more lights. So put up the tree and string it with plenty of lights. Add roast to slow cooker around noon; put your feet up and relax. Mid afternoon: turn on holiday music and start making ornaments and garland. Just before party starts, fix Candy Cane Cocoa and coffee. Keep warm in thermal carafes, in a slow cooker, or on the stove. Place drink toppers, and mix-ins (whipped cream, chocolate syrup, liqueurs) near beverages and let everyone add their own finishing touches. Sip beverages, nibble on appetizers, and start decorating. As decorators finish, set fondue on a coffee table. Let everyone plop on the floor or couch and admire their handiwork as they indulge in a chocolate reward.
Let kids express their inner artist with handmade decorations, from dough ornaments to popcorn garlands to simple ribbon ties.
Use holiday cookie cutters and currants, sprinkles and royal icing to make ornaments Put on a favorite holiday movie and start making garlands: popcorn, cranberry, or paper chains. Thread a needle with heavy-duty thread (double thickness) and string unbuttered air-popped popcorn along the length. Knot ends. Sew popcorn strips together to make garland. Sort through bags of fresh cranberries and discard crushed or spoiled ones. String berries and knot ends. Alternating berries and popcorn is a beautiful touch: string one cranberry after every five popcorn kernels--or make up your own pattern. Let younger kids cut strips of red and green construction paper. Tape or staple together ends of green paper to form a circle. Thread a strip of red paper through the green circle and lock shut with tape. Repeat to form a long chain. String together dried orange sections, pinecones, cinnamon sticks and cranberries for an aromatic garland. Trace holiday cookie cutters onto thick construction or craft paper. Punch holes in tops of ornament shapes and thread with raffia or ribbon. Let kids decorate with crayons, glitter, or paint. Let kids tie strips of ribbons on branches to form a simple, colorful bow.
Items needed: red velvet ribbon, 1/2 inch and 1 inch 6 or 8 inch embrodery hoop mistletoe florist wire hot glue
Directions: Separate the two pieces of the embrodery hoops and fit them together, one inside the other, at a 90 degree angle. Secure in this position with florist wire or hot glue Secure a piece of the 1/2 ribbon to the bottom of the hoop. Wind the ribbon around the edges of the hoop, wrapping each "arm" in a spiral motion until the wood is covered completely. Secure with hot glue. Form two bows with the 1 inch ribbons, leaving the ends dangling. Secure one to the bottom of the joined hoops, the other to the top. Gather the mistletoe into a ball, secure the ends with florist wire.Insert inside the globe and twist the florirst wire to the top of the ball. Hang the ball somewhere you are sure to get kissed!
