Review: This book is well written, intriguing, and definitely worth reading, but I really missed the recurring cast of characters as much as Dallas did. I found McQueen's devolving to be fascinating but the abso stomach twisting turn just rocked me. Take the time out of your schedule to read this book.

Review: YES!!! With this installment JD Robb is totally back on track! This is a how do we catch the bad guy type book. You know the ins & outs and follow along every step of the way.

I love the fact that Eve is maturing into this beautifully aware woman. One who understands that the Blue Line isn’t the only line in the world.

Review: Okay usually I don’t like the woo-woo Eve books or stories because it seems forced or something but this one rocked. And for the first time I enjoyed a JD Robb short story. It felt complete & full.

I loved the fact that Eve handled it as well as she did & that Roarke is the one who got all shook up. Oh yeah & we got the promised cook out. LOL.

What I liked the Least? She’s used this ploy before

Review: While not one of my top five it’s a solid entry due to dialogue, character growth, & pacing. The interwoven plot points murderer, the motive or the method are all working here. I really enjoyed the friendship aspect of this book more than normal – from the heart warming talk with Bella & Mavis to the intense interlude with Morris to simple breakfast with Charles & Louise – the growth of the outside friendships are helping her become a more well rounded individual and I'm glad to see it.

Recommended to: Fans of the series only

What I liked the Most? The science fiction of this installment

What I liked the Least? Betrayal of that magnitude

Review: Oh hell yeah!! This book rocked – from the opening gambit (sword fight anyone) down a very convoluted pathway to justice. I was very well entertained with the twists and turns.

The interplay between characters is totally rocking & I’m loving all the development – Peabody has style, class & substance; Nadine is total power girl; Trina could be listed as Eve’s greatest fear; and Mavis equals heart & soul.

Oh and as a direct response to other reviews – I “buy” that Eve is the one who solved the mystery for the plain and simple fact that she doesn’t understand E. That is the reason she saw it, everyone else was too focused on the that’s not possible frame of mind.

Review: This story read like it was chopped up, like perhaps it was supposed to be a full length tale that ran out of steam so then huge holes had to be whacked into it to fit the length of the required story. I don’t like short stories – really truly I don’t. There isn’t enough time to enjoy the characters and the story. Now that mini rant is done – Next story!!

What I liked the Least? (This is the what you are supposed to dislike FYI) Pretending to be someone else, befriending them and gaining their trust – just so you can kill them

Review: Wow – just wow. I’ve been hesitant to continue the series because it was up and down the last few – but this was a home freaking run. Total & complete. Homer!!!! Beenie – you get to see/read a little bit of what it’s like living in Eve’s head this time around.

I love the fact that JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) knows how to edit a scene to the breaking point – take in point The Wedding. It was very simple, just a few lines about the dress & then bam.

All my favorite supporting cast members were here – though some were not as featured as they should be (I love me some Mavis!!! She’s the BFF I’ve always wanted)

What I liked the Least? The fact that the romance was killed so early

Review: The mystery was intricate, wonderfully plotted and I didn't figure out the bad guy until the reveal. There were twists & turns that linked together in a tightly woven plot – Eve and Roarke were totally mag as were the rest of the crew. I loved the scenes of the bridal shower – they had me laughing out loud and wishing I were there to watch.

Review: I was raised Catholic so I get a lot of the background story truly I do, but this installment never gelled for me. It’s lacking in so many areas – it felt rushed, flat, and dead.

Recommended to: Only die hard fans of the series

What I liked the Most? Personal development

What I liked the Least? the oh so perfect dovetail of the two murders in the first 50 pages

Review: Ok I get that with any on going series there will be an occasional stumble but man this installment tanked it. I can’t put my finger on what exactly gave this story the wiggies for me, but something kept me from enjoying any of it. It could have been the pat way that NOONE like the victims spouse but every one spoke highly of her.

I love the interlude with Tiko & later the pie – these scenes were easily the best in the book.

Recommended to: Ummm no one

What I liked the Most? Ariel = kick ass female

What I liked the Least? Tie a big neat bow on the ST removal – Eve used to have this rock deep line in the sand & this time it was eh? Whatever.

Review:VERY creepy bad guy! (That's not a spoiler, that's the first 5 pages of the book) This installment was not the best one in the series but it was far from the worst.

You get some history in this one - a tidbit about Somerset's past, a peek into Roarke's past, Dallas' upbringing in the force. None of it is overdone and none of it seems to be unnecessary.

I must admit even though I’m not a prude – I usually just skim the sex scenes in this series. I’m not sure why – it just seems a bit overdone for my taste.

Review: This is an intricate balance of interesting crime story with a splash of Valentine’s relationship hell – a blast from Roarke’s past in the form of an ex-lover. The criminal, when outed, was an interesting twist. Not everyone is an innocent as they seem to be.

What I liked the Least? Really – that is one smooth wrap up

Review: While not my favorite story line (I think it was too pat to dovetail the two paths like that) this was my second favorite book because I adore MAVIS. Her character completely & totally rocks large!!! I started the book laughing and ended it crying.

The plot wasn’t perfect, the coincidence was ginormous and I enjoyed every minute of it. What can I say, I’m a fan. And sometimes you just need a purely enjoyable read.

Review: One of the shorts in this series. In this book Number 12 (kinda like Studio 54) is cursed and supposedly haunted. When Eve is called to a murder at Number 12 all evidence points to death by ghost. Eve plays Skully to everyone else's Mulder, but in the end is there a scientific explanation or is a really a ghost?

What I liked the Least? the killer – it was unimaginative and distressing

Review: Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her partner, Detective Peabody, are in the midst of closing a surprisingly pedestrian case when Eve almost walks right into one of her former foster mothers sitting in her office. Since I read the back of the book & I assume everyone else does too, I'll tell you that it's not very much later that Trudy Lombard is dead. Duh Duh Duh!! Now it's up to Eve to find out the who and the why – but for the first time in her career, Eve's faced with a victim that she simply can not feel for.

While this is not the best book in the series, and I personally found the question of who did the killing to be fairly obvious, readers who enjoy the series will enjoy the book and the insights into Eve's past that it gives. Besides which, it's a murder mystery and those are always fun.

What I liked the Least? Ugh – this story drug on and on – I could of cared less by the end of the book

Review: I'm enjoy the fact that this series takes place in a near future and I love the advances in technology that populate the series, but this story line just went over my line into "far-fetched;" it's such a massively large sci-fi storyline that, along with the ongoing personal story lines of the main characters, it's all just too much. The ending feels rushed and unfinished – blow everything up & run away – it’s totally against Eve’s character. This just wasn't quite up to the standards of the series as a whole
